#TheValueofSewing at Fast Textile 2019

The Fast Textile International Textile Fair, in cooperation with Sewing.Bloggers.Poland and Janek Lesniak's Studio during the next edition taking place on November 20-22, 2019, has prepared an interactive space for visitors, fans and sewing enthusiasts. The zone of more than 1000m2 will host workshops, meetings, panel discussions, and the space will be surrounded by promotional areas of the companies that participate in the event. It will be a real feast for sewing enthusiasts!

Drawing with a needle, or free-hand quilting with Anna Slawinskaya

During the workshop, participants will learn how to prepare a "sandwich" for quilting, learn simple patterns to embellish patchwork, and finally sew their portrait or a stylized meadow. The class will be led by Anna Slawinskaya - she has been sewing patchworks for more than 35 years. She has had thirteen solo exhibitions at home and abroad, and participated in dozens of collective patchwork exhibitions at home and abroad.

Linen, as an airy and natural material, is ideal for storing bread. It will even keep our baked goods fresh and full of flavor for several days and prevent mold.
Linen bag also has aesthetic qualities, as it looks beautiful in any kitchen. In addition, sewing such a bag is a great way to reduce the use of plastic bags. The bag is easy to make and even a beginner can manage. Each participant of the workshop, will have the opportunity to personalize his bag with graphics cut on the plotter.

Contest for bloggers #SewingFashionMeeting 2019

A contest for sewing and fashion influencers will be quite a challenge. The contest is all about collaboration, sewing and styling skills! The competition pair is tasked with designing and sewing an interpretation of an A-line skirt and presenting a silhouette styling using the skirt during the 6th edition of the Fast Textile International Textile Fair on November 22, 2019 at Ptak Warsaw Expo.
Participants can apply ONLY until September 30, 2019 enrollment will start soon at www.fasttextile.com Finalist pairs will receive, among other things, a semester of study and courses in styling, design or photography at Krakow Art Schools, as well as in-kind prizes of books by author Pracownia Jan Lesniak.
The organizers are: Fast Textile International Textile Fair, Ptak Warsaw Expo, Sewing.Bloggers.Poland and Krakowskie Szkoła Artystyczne.
Partners are: Pracownia Jan Lesniak, Fabric Shop, Impall Spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością Sp.K. and DOUSA Maszyny Do Szycia Jacek Wojasiewicz.
It's going to be a real feast for sewing enthusiasts!

Simple Stitches - Author's meeting with Janek Lesniak.

On Wednesday, November 20, Visitors will have a chance to attend a meeting with the author of the books "About Sewing, Straight Creatively and Fashionably" and "How to Sew Skirts and Dresses". Janek, as always with humor and detachment, will talk about the behind-the-scenes work on the latest book, where he gets his ideas and energy to carry out further projects, and why he believes that an evening at the sewing machine can be better than a visit to a psychologist. Warning! You may catch the sewing bug.

Sewing for show - a unique fashion show during Fast Textile 2019

Sewing for the Show is the second edition of a unique fashion show organized by Karolina Fabrics and ultraMaszyna together with partners Burda Polska and Fast Textile International Textile Fair. During the event 40 sewing enthusiasts will present their clothes created on the basis of patterns from Burda Style, special editions of Burda Style or Kocham Szycie. Each participant will sew unique accessories from Karolina Fabrics materials especially for the show.

Fashion & Design Festival 2019

This event brings together a lot of original inspiration on fashion, construction, sewing and design. Young designers, designers, representatives of Exhibitors, sewing hobbyists, foreign guests, as well as start-ups can present their greatest achievements, offer and show that Polish design is as attractive as foreign ones. Workshop on construction and modeling of lightweight clothing forms such as T-shirt, dress with sleeves, raglan, kimono. Each/each participant will develop a construction grid with modeling on themselves according to anthropometric measurements.

The second life of jeans - we sew kidneys with Joanna-z!

Do you want to sew a kidney or make smart use of your unused/too small/punched jeans? It's best if you want both at the same time, because Joanka-z will be waiting for you with open arms! Take your jeans under your arm and come meet us at the machine. During the workshop, we will sew kidney-pouches, giving a second life to dusty purses! Joanka-z, as a fan of recycling and creatively squeezing possibilities out of unused things, encourages you to bring a piece of fabric for a lining (e.g., an old shirt, tablecloth, pillowcase) in addition to your jeans, and if you also have one, even a ready-made, unused belt! Let's get creative by creating a new handbag in the spirit of #upcycling and #zeroware.
